Bed Babies and Toddlers
WEE Learn: Curriculum Guide for Infants and Toddlers is a comprehensive curriculum plan that contains ample teaching suggestions for using books, music, nature, and toys to illustrate Christian fundamentals. This curriculum is developed around themes which provide opportunities for children to learn about God, Jesus, the Bible, the church, self, family, others, and the natural world. WEE Learn also provides guidance and activities in each unit to help each child develop language, pre-reading, pre-writing, and other skills appropriate to his or her stage of development. Children’s individual differences and learning styles are considered as they learn through play and interactions. WEE Learn is a curriculum that supports best practice and has been evidence-based researched. Plus, there are plenty of age-specific stimulating learning activities for ages 9-16 months, 17-24 months, and even birth-8 months.
Through this curriculum, everything that happens in your child’s room throughout the day is a teaching moment about their environment and the Creator who made it. For example, diaper changes are a perfect opportunity for learning experiences. Diaper changing is a one-on-one time with the caregiver. It is a time in which the child feels that her needs are being met, and that she is a unique, valuable, and precious individual in God’s sight.
Along with the individual care giving moments, teachers will also plan and organize their environments to provide experiences which enhance:
- Motor development
- Cognitive development
- Problem solving
- Social development
- Listening and responding to sounds and voices
- Expressing emotions towards others
